Jonathan Hart
Colchester, VT - Jonathan arrives for his second season with us as a carpenter from St. Michael's College in Vermont, where he worked for John Devlin (Johnny D), a BHP alum. There, he has worked as a technician for 18 productions and received a B.A. degree. He has also done technical work of various kinds for Saint Michael's Playhouse, IATSE Local 919, Vermont Stage and Essex Community Players. Mr. Hart hopes to expand his theatrical career in lighting and set design

Ryan Henderson
Vermillion, SD - Ryan is a Black Hills native with his permanent residence in Box Elder. He recently finished his four year at USD where he is pursuing a double major in theatre and political science. He is honored to be spending his first summer at the Playhouse, acting in Play It Again, Sam, Chorus Line, and Fiddler on the Roof. He would like to give sincere appreciation to his parents, who have never stopped supporting him. And a special thanks to his father, who didn't make him wrestle in high school.

J. D. Henriksen
Dell Rapids, SD - J.D. is a graduate of SDSU in Brookings, SD, with a BS in Communication studies and Theatre, where he performed in many roles for the University Theatre. He has also performed for the Olde Towne Dinner Theatre, the Bare Bodkins, the Brooking Community Theatre, and Prairie Repertory Theatre. This summer, his first at BHP, Mr. Henriksen will portray Mike in Chorus Line.

Skylar Herzog
Beaverton, OR - After spending three summers at BHP, Skylar has been volunteering at various theatres in the Portland, OR, metropolitan area. He has also been a tool salesman for Sears and a framer for Legend Homes. In his fourth year for us, Mr. Herzog will be Master Carpenter. Skylar is looking forward to one more summer at the Playhouse with all of the excellent friends he has made here.

Mitch Hess
Rockville, CT - Mitch has a BS in Speech Communication, English and Theatre for USD, where he played many roles. He is happy to be back at the BHP for his fourth season. He will be playing Larry in Chorus Line. While Mitch currently lives in Connecticut, he is a Watertown, SD, native and is thrilled to be back in South Dakota for a few weeks to do some theatre with his friends.

Andrew Hull
St. Louis, MO - Andy is delighted to be working at the BHP this summer. He is currently studying set design and scene painting at Webster University in St. Louis, where he has designed such shows as A Piece of My Heart and Man Who Came to Dinner. In the past he has worked with the scenic artists at The Muny in St. Louis, as well as The Garvin and Ensemble Theatre in Santa Barbara, CA. He will acquire his BFA next year if all goes well. In his first summer with us, Mr. Hull will be Charge Scenic Artist and will design scenery for Hay Fever.

Harold Hynick
Fremont, NE - Harold returns for a twelfth season at BHP to act as Avram in Fiddler on the Roof and Banjo in Man Who Came to Dinner. He is chair of the theatre department at Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, NE. Harold has appeared at Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston and Penobscot Theatre Company in Bangor, ME. He has performed in many different roles at the Playhouse, most recently playing four roles last summer. He is here with his wife, Christine Carnes, and his sons, Rowan and Martin.

Myrna Hynick
Albia, IA - This is Myrna's fifth season at BHP as Cook for the company. She is a retired Family and Consumer Science teacher. She is a graduate of William Penn College and has her MA from the University of Iowa. Myrna taught at Chadron State College, Iowa Wesleyan College, and public schools in Iowa and Texas. She is married to Paul Hynick, the mother of four (including Harold), and grandmother of twelve. Her hobbies include travel, camping, reading, cake decorating, and cooking. Myrna is a great grandmother of two.

Rowan Hynick
Mitchell, SD - Rowan will be a fourth grade student at Bell Field Elementary in Fremont, NE. He has been coming to the Playhouse since he was born. You may have seen him in our productions of King and I and Music Man. He has also appeared at Midland Lutheran College and, most recently, as Mrs. Duck in the Second Grade production of "Little Red Hen's Surprise." Last summer he played Thor in The Nerd for us. This summer he will be in Fiddler on the Roof. He is here with his mom, Christine Carnes, his father Harold, his brother Martin, and his grandmother Myrna.

Holly Jacobs
Phoenix, AZ - Holly is a graduate of USD in theatre. She is currently living in Arizona. This is Holly's sixth season at the Playhouse. Last summer she played Adelaide in Guys & Dolls and one of the "sisters, cousins, and aunts" in H.M.S. Pinafore. This summer, Ms. Jacobs will portray Val in Chorus Line, Chorus in Fiddler on the Roof, Miss Preen in Man Who Came to Dinner, and Jackie in Hay Fever.

Cory Johnson
Detroit, MI - Cory is working toward her BFA in scenic design at Wayne State University. During the school year, she is a carpenter for the Bonstelle Theatre. Her credits include scenic design for Dinner with Friends and Proof for Wayne State's Studio Theatre, as well as props artist for Ten November at the Bonstelle. She will be a carpenter for us in her first season. Ms. Johnson hopes to continue to learn interesting things and some day see the world, up close and personal.

Eric Johnson
Rapid City, SD - Mr. Johnson's professional credits include Aspects of Love, Me and My Girl, and Chess on Broadway, as well as the national tour of Annie. Eric has been an actor, director and musical director for us for many seasons (since his nineteenth birthday). He is a member of Actor's Equity Association and Screen Actor's Guild. Last season, he directed H.M.S. Pinafore, played Nicely-Nicely in Guys and Dolls, and served as Musical Director. This year, he will play Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Whiteside in Man Who Came to Dinner, and serve as Musical Director. Eric just completed directing Baby for the Black Hills Community Theatre.

Philip Johnson
Yankton, SD - A Yankton native, Philip is currently attending the University of South Dakota where he is studying art and theatre. He has acted in several plays there and many at Yankton High School. He hopes to become involved in the entertainment industry through acting, modeling, or graphic design. He will be a clerk for us in his first BHP summer.

Keegan Kellogg
Rapid City, SD - Keegan just graduated from Rapid City Central High School and has acted for them, Black Hills Community Theater, the Civic Center Broadway Series, and Storybook Island Theatre. He is excited to begin his study of musical theatre at the University of South Dakota. In his first summer with the BHP, Mr. Kellogg will act as Frank in Chorus Line and Motel in Fiddler on the Roof. Keegan would like to thank his friends and family for all of their love and support.

Marisa Kennedy
Olympia, WA - Marisa has a BFA from the University of Arizona and is a member of the Society of American Fight Directors. Her performance experience includes Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeney Todd, Tommy, Big River, and many others. She has also performed in Sydney, Australia, and in various cities in New York and Japan. At the "Seattle's Best Tapper" competition, she was named one of the top ten by Savion Glover. She has also choreographed many musicals. This summer, her first at BHP, Ms. Kennedy will act in Chorus Line, Fiddler on the Roof, and Man Who Came to Dinner.

Paula Kennison
Rapid City, SD - Last summer Paula appeared as Cousin Hebe in H.M.S. Pinafore. This summer, her fourth at BHP, she will play Yente in Fiddler on the Roof. Area theatre patrons may have seen her in the Black Hills Community Theatre's productions of A Grand Night for Singing, Guys and Dolls, South Pacific, and Oliver. She most recently appeared as Mrs. Potts in the Civic Center's Broadway Series production of Beauty and the Beast. Paula is an audiologist in her other life.

Wyatt Kent
Lincoln, NE - Mr. Kent just finished his first year as a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he is a theatre major with an emphasis in performance. He was a member of the National Thespian Society in high school, where he acted in many productions, directed and work behind the scenes. In his first season with the Playhouse, Wyatt will perform in Chorus Line, Fiddler on the Roof, and Man Who Came to Dinner.

Kenney Keplinger
Ft. Wayne, IN - Born in the L.A. suburb of Lancaster, Kenney lived in Raytown, SD (near Pierre), until he was four. He then moved to Indiana, where he grew up. In his first season with the Playhouse, Mr. Keplinger with assist Myrna Hynick with the cooking.

Mikal Kraklio
Minneapolis, MN - This is Mikal's 14th summer at the BHP. During those years he has held the positions of actor, technician, chef, clerk, office and marketing assistant, and snack bar manager. This season Mikal adds director to that list, with Play It Again, Sam. He will also be acting in Fiddler on the Roof and Man Who Came to Dinner. Recently Mr. Kraklio was Director of the Cherry Street Players for Black Hills Community Theater, and he just finished a nine-month tour as director/actor for "Imagine Nation" with the Children's Theatre Company of South Dakota.

Aaron Laudermith
Vermillion, SD - Aaron is a second year graduate student at USD, pursuing an MFA in scenic design and production technology. He received his Bachelor's degree from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD. His first summer at the Playhouse he served as Master Carpenter; he is delighted to be retruning as the scenic designer for Chorus Line and the Director of Properties.

David L'Esperance
Rapid City, SD - David previously appeared in our production of Music Man and has done many productions at the Black Hills Community Theater, including this season's South Pacific and the 1979 production of Of Mice and Men which was directed by Jan Swank. This season at the Playhouse, Mr. L'Esperance will portray the Rabbi in Fiddler on the Roof.

Aaron Libby
Chesire, CT - Mr. Libby is a senior musical theatre major at Syracuse University and is thrilled to be making his Playhouse debut as a clerk. He recently spent four month studying in London at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Last year he acted in John and Jen, Kiss Me Kate, and Wax & Feathers at Syracuse University. He has also acted at Syracuse Stage, Cape Repertory Theatre, Robert Sandine Theatre, and Academy Players. Aaron would like to thank his friends and family for their love and support.

Justin Lynn
Minneapolis, MN - Justin is happy to be returning to the Playhouse for his third summer; you may remember him from last season's productions of Guy and Dolls, H.M.S. Pinafore and Lion in Winter. He currently resides in Minneapolis and works at the Children's Theatre Co. He will be performing in Chorus Line, Fiddler on the Roof and The Man Who Came to Dinner for us this year. Mr. Lynn holds a B.S. in Theatre from South Dakota State University and has also acted for Prairie Repertory Theatre. Justin would like to dedicate this season to his parents, saying, "Without their support and love, I would be lost at sea."

Fred Mackaman
Minneapolis, MN - This will be Fred's twentieth season at BHP since his debut in 1977. Other creative pursuits have kept him away the last couple years, including a chance to co-star with Sally struthers las fall in a Minneapolis production of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (he kissed her). In 2003, Mr. Mackaman appeared in Music Man and Pirates of Penzance. This summer, he will reprise his role of Lazar Wolf in Fiddler on the Roof and play Mr. Stanley in Man Who Came to Dinner. Fred holds an M.A. in Education from the University of St. Mary's and teaches speech and theatre at the Black Hawk Middle School in Eagan, MN. Mr. Mackaman is pleased to also be a homeowner in Reno Gulch near Hill City, SD.

Jeffrey Marsey
Long Island City, NY - Jeff is excited to be spending his second summer here at the BHP as a carpenter. He has worked in several theatres around the country, including Cleveland Play House, Dobama Night Kitchen, Beck Center for the Arts, Cleveland Shakespeare Festival, and others, doing carpentry, construction, and various stage crew positions. Jeff can also be seen from time to time on stage, acting, where some favorite roles include Silvius in As You Like It, and Launce in The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Michelle Martinson
Keystone, SD - Michelle is back for a fourth time at the BHP and will be playing Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof. She was seen in previous BHP productions of H.M.S. Pinafore, Once Upon a Mattress and Pirates of Penzance. She has also been in several Black Hills Community Theater productions including Godspell and I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Michelle is originally from Devil's Lake, ND, and moved to Keystone, SD, eight years ago, where she works at Mt. Rushmore.

Stephen Matthew
Goleta, CA - Stephen returns for a fourth season to BHP as assistant Master Electrician and Lighting Designer for Man Who Came to Dinner. During the past year, Mr. Matthew designed lights for Jan's production of Proof at East L. A. College. He is a student at Santa Barbara City College where he was assistant lighting designer for their production of Lola Goes to Roma. Stephen is still an amateur boxer in California.

Sean McCain
Sioux Falls, SD - Sean finished his freshman year at Augustana College this May. There, he is majoring in theatre and business/communications. In addition to acting, he enjoys technical work, having done props and stage management. His favorite roles have been Boris in You Can't Take It with You and Clyde in Dearly Departed. He will be acting for us in Chorus Line, Fiddler on the Roof, and Man Who Came to Dinner for his first BHP summer. Sean attributes his love and passion for the theatre to his high school drama teacher, Frank Pope (BHP alum). His parents have also been supportive of his path in life, and for that he is grateful.

Carol McCluskey
Custer, SD - Carol was secretary to the head of the Surgery Department of USD School of Medicine before moving to the Black Hills in 1990. She has been a "theatre mom" for years-one of her sons (Kevin) is a theatre professor in Virginia. She will again be Buildings and Grounds Supervisor this year (after assisting her husband Gene in that position for seven years). Carol says she "enjoys being around the young folk." The McCluskeys will be retiring from their Playhouse duties after this summer.

Gene McCluskey
Custer, SD - Gene will again assist the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor this year. It is his twelfth year at the BHP. Gene retired from the Veteran's Administration in 1994 after 37 years of employment in the fields of electronics and computers. His experience in innovative problem solving is a real asset in his current position. The McCluskeys will be retiring from their Playhouse duties after this summer.

Kevin McCluskey
Locust Grove, VA - Kevin is pleased to be returning for his tenth? summer at the Playhouse to serve as costume designer for Hay Fever. He holds a BFA in theatre from USD and an MFA in Costume Design from Indiana University and is currently an Assistant Professor in Theatre at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. He is also the son of Gene and Carol McCluskey and very proud to have the opportunity to work with them for their last summer at the Playhouse. Previous designs at the BHP include Lion in Winter, Arsenic and Old Lace, and Dracula.

Erin McDowell
Olympia, WA - Erin is thrilled to be returning to the Playhouse for her third season. A senior musical theatre major at Syracuse University, she just returned from London, studying at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Last summer, Ms. McDowell returned to Olympia to choreograph and act as Nancy in Oliver! for Capital Playhouse with BHP alum, Jeff Kingsbury. Last fall, she appeared in The Wild Party directed by BHP alum Rodney Hudson. Previous BHP work includes acting in Music Man, Pirates of Penzance, Playboy of the Western World, King and I, and Once upon a Mattress.

Monica McFarland
Sioux Falls, SD - a Sioux Falls native and graduate on Roosevelt High School, Monica is in her fourth year at USD, majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in mathematics and theatre. Her emphasis in theatre is costuming, and she will be a costume assistant for us in her first BHP summer. She has worked as a stitcher on more than six productions at USD. She hopes one day to have a career in a theatre either as a stitcher or a cutter/draper.

Angela McKie
Rapid City, SD - Angela's main theatre venue for the past twenty years has been the Black Hills Community Theatre were she has been involved in all aspects of production. Her favorite roles include Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire and Claire in Proof. She has directed several shows, including A Piece of My Heart, and she has stage managed many musicals, The Nutcracker, Beauty and the Beast, symphony productions, and miscellaneous groups' endeavors at the Civic Center. She will play Judith in Hay Fever for us in her first BHP season. Angela is married to Ross (a man of great patience and a good sense of humor) and has one son, Ryan (her pride and joy).

Anna Miller
Sioux Falls, SD - Ms. Miller returns for a second year as a actress at BHP (she'll appear in Fiddler on the Roof and Man Who Came to Dinner). She is a senior at Augustana College. After she graduates, she plans to go to graduate school in London or Seattle. She was most recently in Pirates of Penzance and You Can't Take It with You at Augie. Last season she appeared in BHP productions of Guys & Dolls and H. M. S. Pinafore.

Ron Moyer
Vermillion, SD - Dr. Moyer returns for his 27th season at the BHP to play Professor Metz in Man Who Came to Dinner. Last season, he directed The Nerd. Previous shows Ron has directed include Good Doctor, Breaking Legs, Lend Me a Tenor, The Miser, Elephant Man, and Twelfth Night. A highlight of his work with us was as dramaturg for Merchant of Venice with Ralph Koltai designing. Ron is a Professor of Theatre at USD and chair of the Theatre Department. His family, Caitlin Collier, Kelsey Collier-Wise, and Elizabeth Moyer are all BHP alums.
