It takes over $600,000 to produce a season at the Black Hills Playhouse. Season Sponsorships help pay artists’ salaries, purchase food, royalties, and production supplies to build costumes and sets. They also fund programs like Kids Go Free, tickets for BHP Jr. Campers and pay-as-you-can performances.

EDUCATION INNOVATOR $5,000+ your logo on touring show and expanding stage programs and camp t-shirts, 1/4 page ad valued $800, recognition on our website, in the Playbill which is seen by approximately 16,000 individuals, and 8 tickets to the Black Hills Playhouse
EDUCATION LEADER $3,000+: 4 tickets to the Black Hills Playhouse, logo on touring show programs. 1/8th page ad valued at $500 Recognition on website, in education programs, and in season playbill. Provides essential program development funding for statewide youth programs of the Black Hills Playhouse

Sponsorships support the following programs:
Dakota Players Tours - Two professional actor/directors guide youth through invigorating sessions in schools and communities across South Dakota. These week-long residencies work with up to 55 students to rehearse and perform a musical with lights, sound, set, and costumes! In addition, workshops can be tailored to meet the needs of the community or sponsor. These dynamic arts experiences are inclusive and fun for all students.
Oceti Sakowin + Dakota Players Theatre Experience
Dynamic, fun, and challenging theatre activities that engage multiple grades and age groups in sessions designed to encourage creative thinking, teamwork and promote communication skills. Available entirely online with artist touchpoint meetings over video call. Circus Circus and Oceti Sakowin Lakota cultural programs available
BHP Jr. Summer Camps - Performing arts education for 5th - 7th, and 8th - 12th-grade students taught at beautiful Placerville Camp in the Black Hills. Kids from across the region attend this sleep-away summer camp which includes a trip to see a show at the Playhouse to meet the professionals who work there. At the end of a glorious week, young actors present a show for family and friends.
The Expanding Stage
Taking theatre to new stages so people of all abilities can experience the joy and transformative power of the arts is the goal of this program. Participants' choices are integral in these groundbreaking theatre education programs which provide performance and communication opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. BHP teaching artists guide theatre classes that lead to performance for friends and families in partnership with organization such as DakotAbilities and the LifeScape Center for the Arts.
