Covid Guidelines & Policies for Fall 2021

Updated September 08, 2021

Guidelines for Residencies

We are so excited to be in person this year! However, we also understand that we still need to do our part during this pandemic. Until all children have access to a vaccine, and in accordance with CDC Guidelines for COVID-19 Prevention in K-12 Schools, masks (provided by the sponsoring organization if needed) and physical distancing (3 ft) will be required for participants, audiences, and BHP teaching artists regardless of vaccination status.  An exception will be made regarding masking for participants when eating or drinking in designated areas.

According to the Event Safety Alliance (ESA) “face coverings are the simplest, cheapest, most readily available means of substantially reducing the risk of transmitting coronavirus from one person to another, and everyone can contribute to their own health and safety.”

The BHP will disinfect all props after every use, and disinfect the costumes and limited number of scripts that are distributed after each residency. “Although surface contamination is now understood to be far less of a source of transmission than aerosolized droplets, better cleaning is relatively cheap” (ESA, 2021).

The BHP will promote physical distancing at rehearsals, backstage and during performances.

Your cooperation will ensure that our programs can continue with the safety of our staff and participants in mind.

If an in-person residency is not an option Black Hills Playhouse will provide a virtual option in substitution.
