Seasonal Employment

The Black Hills Playhouse (BHP) seeks actors, production members, customer service staff, and chefs for the 14-week summer stock season in Custer State Park. Along with the summer stock staff, the BHP is also seeking 2 tour actor/directors for the 2022/23 tour season.

 

All positions are paid DOE and include room and board. Housing for the summer stock season consists of shared dormitory rooms or small apartments. Meals are served in a dining hall.

Summer Stock Start & End Dates:
May 23 - August 21, 2022
Dates may vary by contract.

The tour team travels the state and surrounding areas with all theatre elements needed to put on a show...except the cast!  The tour team leads a week-long rehearsal process in each town, culminating in performances with local community members.  The tour team also gets experience in leading theatre workshops, counseling Summer Theatre Camps and assisting with All-Ability productions.

Online Acting Submissions

Actor submissions are accepted through February 1, 2022.

 

Apply electronically by submitting a headshot, a résumé, and link(s) to your audition material using the "Submission Form" button below.  Audition materials should be limited to 2 minutes and include a song and a monologue.

 

Callbacks will be scheduled and held virtually.

 

When hiring is complete for the season (generally late March to mid-April), it will be posted on our website and social media.
