Seasonal Employment

The Black Hills Playhouse (BHP) seeks actors, production members, and customer service staff for the 11-week summer stock season in Custer State Park. We are also seeking actors/directors for our touring outreach company, Dakota Players, which provides theatre education opportunities throughout South Dakota and surrounding states.

 

All positions are paid DOE and include room and board.  Housing for the summer stock season consists of shared dormitory rooms or small apartments. Meals are served in a dining hall.

This year all auditions and interviews will be held virtually.

 

Online Acting Submissions

Actor submissions are accepted through February 1, 2021.

 

Apply electronically by submitting a headshot and a résumé and link(s) to your audition material.  Audition materials should be limited to 2 minutes and include a song and a monologue.

Callbacks will be scheduled and held virtually.

 

When hiring is complete for the season (generally late March to mid-April), it will be posted on our website and social media.

 

Technical Position Submissions

Technician submissions are accepted through March 1, 2021 - ALL TECHNICAL ROLES HAVE BEEN FILLED - THANK YOU!

 

Apply by submitting a cover letter, list of three references, and resume with links to any related portfolio materials to randy@blackhillsplayhouse.com. Include “Technical Position” in the subject line.
