The Black Hills Playhouse (BHP) seeks amazing people of all backgrounds for a 14-week summer stock season in Custer State Park in South Dakota. These are seasonal employment contracts.

  • Summer Stock Start & End Dates: May 23 - August 21, 2022. Dates may vary by contract.

  • All positions include room & board. What does that mean exactly? Housing is provided in our scenic location and meals are made fresh on campus during all workdays specifically for the company.  

  • First-year intern positions are paid $200/wk and all other positions DOE. Job descriptions are found in the online application. When hiring is complete for the season (generally late March to mid-April), it will be posted on the website and social media.

2022/23 Dakota Players Children's Theatre Tour Jobs

The BHP is also seeking two, year-round tour actor-directors for the Dakota Players children's theatre 2022/23 touring season.

  • These positions are full-time with benefits and begin work in mid-July 2022.

  • The tour team conducts auditions and leads a week-long rehearsal process in each town, culminating in performances in front of local community audiences.

  • The tour team is trained to lead theatre workshops, works with students at BHP Jr. Performing Arts Camps, and assists with all-ability productions.
